The 44th President
Barack Hussein Obama is the 44th President of the United States of America, the son of a American and a Kenyan national.Senator Obama defeated first Senator Hillary Clinton, who wanted to be president so badly that she lost her bearings, and then John McCain, who forsook his principles for a campaign built on anger and fear. Mr. Obama won the election because he saw what is wrong with this country: the utter failure of government to protect its citizens. He promised to lead a government that does not try to solve every problem but will do those things beyond the power of individual citizens: to regulate the economy fairly, keep the air clean and the food safe, ensure that the sick have access to health care, and educate children to compete in a globalized world.

Mayon Volcano
Where can you find a volcano with almost perfect cone shaped? Only here in the Philippines, and it is called Mayon Volcano. This can be found fifteen kilometers Northwest of Legaspi City. It is the main landmark of the place and the most active volcano in the Philippines. During the most destructive eruption, trees were burned and rivers were certainly damaged. Months before the eruption, the scene of volcanic activity during night time was magnificent and unique. More than half of the mountain height was thus illuminated and people must evacuate to avoid danger. Though Mayon volcano is stunningly beautiful, yet when it shows its anger, it kills thousands of people and no one can stop against the forces of nature.

Time is Precious Because Life is Serious
When I was a child, I was full of dreams. I dedicated all my endeavors to my
family especially to my beloved mother. I studied hard and well planned my future, not thinking what lies ahead of me. Nobody can tell the future nor can I predict what will happen in spite of my beautiful plans. Unfortunately, my mother passed away, and it seemed that the whole damn world fell on me.My life changed. My dreams collapsed. I wandered like a vagabond. Vices to vices.I was lost for quite a long time, until I met God in my life and realized how I wasted my time. If only I could turn back the hands of time, I will, and make things right. However, nothing I can do with my past.Life is so serious and I'm not getting younger. All I can do is to make the most of it. Treasure every moment for time is precious.

Nostalgia
The words "There's no place like home", sounded like bell's ringing to me. It reminds me of my childhood, the life that has been drawn into oblivion. Way back in 1970s, I grew up in a small barrio in one of the islands in Visayas. A place where water is abundant. A place nearby a seashore that once had a beautiful white sand and tall mangroves which trunks couldn't be measured by the span of arms. It's so nice to swim in the seawater which color was as clear as crystal, especially during high tide. The smell of the sea breeze increased my appetite. The sifting of the waves tickled my ears like music in the night. Remembering them gives me a feeling of nostalgia. They said, "There's no place like home", but though, every bit of them has been drifted away in the sea of forgetfulness, because all of them have been ravaged by man alone.

Encouragement in the Midst of Discouragement
Before I got my job now, I've been through a lot of ups and downs. A lot of emotional and financial crises in searching for a job. There were times that I envied other people and questioned God's fairness. I became impatient and almost lost my hope until such time that I even questioned God's existence.During my discouragement, my sister came in and told me these words, " Don't force the time to come and bring you fortune. Be patient, stay calm, take it easy, do your part and pray.Let it come in its own right time as easy as you don't expect it." So I hold on her words, and it's true. I landed a job without exerting too many efforts.e

Rest
Each man needs rest. Even God rested during the seventh day after working. Man works for five to six days a week. He needs to relax and refuel even in just one day in order to gain strength to survive for another week. Man works hard in order to live, but it doesn't mean that he's living in order to work. There are people who aren't working, and yet they get tired and there are also people who keep on working and never get tired. Maybe it's because they love it and feel contented with it. No matter how relaxing is ones task, without contentment, he can never find rest. Furthermore, no matter how difficult and hard is ones task, if he's contented, then he can find rest in the midst of it.

Bumper to Bumper
People living in an urbanize City suffered a heavy traffic. There is what we call " rush hour". This is in between 6:30-8:00 in the morning where people are running and rushing towards their offices. The buzz ling and the horn blowing of jeep ness are very noisy. The streets are busy while the pedestrian lanes are crowded with people walking to and fro. Traffic enforcers are sweating because some hurried people are violating the traffic laws. In the afternoon, again, everybody is experiencing another severe traffic. People are rushing home from their works. It causes another headache for the enforcers. This is the traffic scenario of a highly populated City.

The Difference Between Old And New Generation
Youth of today used to hear criticism from older people. Neither did I scape from it during my teenage time. Old people always judge and compare the young ones with them. According to them, they're more modest, refine, polite, respectful, obedient and courteous while the new generations are flirt, rude, impolite and stubborn. During my time, every time I heard those comments, I always reacted and argued them. Now that I'm already adult, still I don't agree with those judgements. For me, what happened in the old times were also happening now. Each individual's character depends on how his or her family's upbringing. Good and bad traits of people can be seen nowadays and even before. I think the only difference between these two generations is the modern technology in which the new generations are trying to cope up with.

My Workaholic Brother
As of now, we are living in a house of my father. Downstairs is where my brother's engraving shop. When we went home last night, it was around twelve midnight. As we entered inside the house, my brother was still working. His assistance was engraving while he was polishing the nameplates. At dawn, I still heard the sounds of the grinder. When I woke up this morning, he's still working even until I left to work. That is how dedicated he is to his work even if his earnings does not compensate his efforts. Seldom he relaxes. It seems that quiting does not exist in his mind. He never stop finding ways to prove his theory. If ever he's hired in a certain company, surely he will be a good asset because he is a workaholic.
