The River Stone Castle

Just been to Argao Cebu this week end and have been gone to The River Stone Castle. The place is one kilometer away from the main town of Argao. The building of the castle inspired by a Belgian National and is built by a file of stones. It is open to the public for viewing but you have to pay 40 pesos for the entrance fee. Inside the gate, you need to pass through the bridge with crocodiles beneath before entering the castle. Inside, there is a mini bar and the floor is made of glass that makes it transparent for the visitors to view the fish underground. There are stairs that right after reaching the last step, you will be facing the beautiful veranda. Another stairs that will brought you to a higher ground where in you can see the carriage. If you want to be refreshed, you may go another steps higher and you can find a pool. If your children want to play, you may continue higher and you will find a play ground. When you pass through the right side, you will see different cages of birds and monkeys. There is also a shooting range inside. There are rooms to those who want to stay and a function room too.

Sagbayan Peak

Being on top of the hill is very refreshing. It seems like you conquered the world when you are watching down the lowland. That is what I felt when I was in Sagbayan Peak. It is one of the tourist destination in the province of Bohol. Up there, you can see hills around. They are the continuation and part of chocolate hills. The valleys below the hills are mostly rice fields because most of those lands at the foot of the hills are wet. To be there in the peak, you will experience the coolness of the air that touches your skin. There are other things that will catch your eyes in Sagbayan Peak. Tarsiers will welcome you in the entrance before going up and you will be fascinated with the colorful butterflies inside the sanctuary. Not only that, there are many views that will capture your eyes when you get there.

Tarsier

One famous tourist attraction in the Philippines is what they have said the smallest monkey in the world. It is often found in the province of Bohol, Samar, Leyte and Mindanao. This little creature is called Tarsier. It has elongated feet longer than its body height and has long fingers too. Since Tarsier eyes are huge, thus it is very sensitive to sunlight and hid itself from the heavy light but, it has a good night vision that makes it easy to catch its prey during night time that is why Tarsier is a nocturnal. Before, I thought that its finger is hard but when it touches my hand, I could feel the softness of it. This amazing creature is delicate and if you want to see it by your self, you may come to visit the Philippines and experience its tenderness.

Is an alcoholic man a problem?

An alcoholic man used to say, just one shot for the road, and this one shot followed by another shots until he gets drunk. This man thought that alcohol helps him but on the contrary, it gradually destroys him. It does not only ruin himself but as will as his relationship with his family and so with his marriage. Yes, alcoholic man is a problem. He never realize the worries and the miseries he had given to his family every time he takes his shot. In my years of living, I have never seen an alcoholic man progresses even if he was born with a silver spoon or heir of a well to do family, this will drag him down to the ground. No matter how many people try to help him out from this bondage, yet, if he is not willing to cooperate nothing will happen. If this man will not change, someday, he will wake up alone with no one to hold on.

The Farmer

One of the three basic needs of men is food. Everyday we are taking meals and definitely we cannot go on to our daily routine with an empty stomach. Yes if we have a plenty of money, we can easily buy anything our belly needs in the market. But let us try to pause for a moment and reflect to whom we owe these things that we intake. They are the farmers. They are the simple people behind our full stomach. With sweat and endurance, they are the people who plow the soil to be planted. With patience and hope, they are the people who are taking care of the plants as they grow. With smile and joy, they are the one harvesting the products. Without them we can never have the things in our kitchen and even a single detail in there, we owe it from them.

Self Reliant

Reliance on one's own capabilities, is necessary in this time of global crisis. Anywhere, there is a scarcity of job hiring. Some other nations where we think many opportunities offered are mostly facing a peace crisis situation. In times like this, self reliance is needed. We cannot depend always to our job and to others because everything is precarious. There is no permanent in this life for it is a constant change. We must learn how to stand in our own despite of insurgencies, calamities, and difficulties everybody is facing right now. To become self reliant means to be resourceful, creative and productive.

Wear a Smile

Smile is a simple gesture of the mouth which uses only 17 muscles. It is an expression of someone who is in good mood and is delighted. Some said we should smile and the world will smile with us. Other said we have to do so, even if our heart is aching. What a big irony! Smiling though our heart is grieving endures a very difficult thing to do. But then if you are dealing with people, then you must give a smile and that is how things should be. To smile is necessary to persuade and to impress your clients, and not only that, wearing a smile affects the whole world. So let us all smile to brighten up the world everyday.

Tiger Plant

Plants played a very important role in man's life. The main fact that they are the source of oxygen, then they are vital necessity of every living creature. Plants beautify the surrounding and can refresh one's stressful mind. There was an amazing plant that caught my eyes when we went to a high land of Good shepherd. It was a kind of tiger plant. I find it very fascinating. When I nuzzled it, I could feel something in my hand. Unlike the other tiger plant that I've known, it was smooth but this one was a hairy type. I've learned that there is not only one kind of tiger plant, but a lot of them and any plant with a strands like tiger is one of a kind. They were all amazing and I would say that nothing can compares with the art of nature.

Earthquake Drill

Earthquake is one natural adversity that frequently occurred in any part of the world during these epochs. Unlike the typhoon, this cannot be predicted. The higher the intensity is the more dangerous it is to be in the lives of the people. Those residences near the shores are exposed to more danger due to tsunami effect of the earthquake. People are trained to prepare in this disaster. Earthquake drills are advised to all government establishment or non-government. According to the instruction, we have to hold and cover while the shaking is going on. When the shaking ceases, we need to haste going out from the building in a duck walk while covering our head to protect from falling objects. Outside we have to stay in a safer place away from the structures. Though the drill is done every month, still nobody knows what will happen in a real situation.

BER Months

BER months are the names of months that end with "ber". There are four of them starting from September, October, November and December. In my country, when the BER months begin, the spirit of Christmas is girding in the atmosphere. All department stores start to display assorted kind of Christmas decors. The markets are becoming busy and so with the streets. You can hear Christmas songs being played. Colorful toys are also displayed to allure the eyes of the shoppers. BER months mark the Christmas season and in this time, people start buying gifts to avoid the so-called rush buying.

Insight about the life of caterpillar

There was a story about a child who saw a pupa struggling inside the cocoon. The child felt pity on it, so she tore the cocoon to help the pupa comes out. When it was done, it could not fly because it was not fully develop. Instead, it died . We know that before a caterpillar turns into a beautiful butterfly, it has to pass through a stage where it is called pupa. In this stage, the caterpillar is being wrapped up by a cocoon. In there, pupa develop its wings. We cannot imagine the struggle of this little creature inside the cocoon but this is how it should be as a preparation when it comes out and explore the world outside. Likewise, man's life is the same. We need to undergo struggles and bitterness in life that would make us a better person.
